Christmas Reflections

Anxiety that came to me
Affected Christmas too.
I often would not be real good
In showing feelings true.

I've never been quite happy when
Receiving Christmas gifts.
I rarely feel a Christmas zeal,
Which effort will not lift.

It might be due that I don't view
The gifts as coming from
Someone who cares and therefore shares
What friendship should become.

It also might be that I fight
Low self-esteem issues.
Some parts of life still cause me strife
Though none I ever choose!
