Of My Mistress and Her Sister

Weakened eyes gaze upward, lost
In endless stare with seeming ghost.
Pale hands reach downward
Offering rest in shimmering host.

Life-long pursuit, a futile task
I sought when young a chance to ask,
Sought you, dear Mistress,
Offer my all for so brief a pass.

Many friends your touch have known
While for your love I stood alone,
Wishing to join them,
Flown with you to your mystic home.

Impassioned search for just a chance
To share, dear Mistress, fabled dance;
Extending arms thrust out.
No music now. A silent stance.

But sister thine then stole my heart;
Convinced me cease, your touch depart,
And love her, dear Mistress,
For her, love and soul and dance and art.

Now sister thine leaves me, your moment due,
My flames consumed, all love for you.
Weak hands clutching yours,
Come pale Mistress, I welcome you.

Sean Taylor

Sean Taylor writes short stories, novellas, novels, graphic novels and comic books (yes, Virginia, there is a difference between comic books and graphic novels, just like there's a difference between a short story and a novel). In his writing life, he has directed the “lives” of zombies, super heroes, goddesses, dominatrices, Bad Girls, pulp heroes, and yes, even frogs, for such diverse bosses as IDW Publishing, Gene Simmons, and The Oxygen Network. He also posts religious and political content from time to time. But not nearly as much as writing content. Between horror movies and cartoons, that is. Visit him online at www.thetaylorverse.com and www.badgirlsgoodguys.com (or follow his faith blog at www.filthyragsanddirtycups.blogspot.com). [He, Him] more…
