Together

words flowing, free-falling on pages of bind
song lingering after silence, humming softly
we were like that once before
like the tinge of heat saturation of the sun
warm, safe behind the lands below
as slumber takes over.
our fingers casually intertwined
akin to our love, we were dancing between stones
skipping a few; our toes happily touching water
a waterfall gently falls; that was us.
then it crashes and all I could hear was it
the vapour blurring my vision, I could barely see
you between stones, behind stones, falling
my hand reached out, my hand it did not think
my fingers that used to be with yours
empty without what it was accustomed to
I let you slip between the cracks we formed
then silence
while the waterfall reconstructs itself.
I turned my back on us ready; walk hastily
through the waterfall, through the pages
through the harmony whispering back at me
and I find you once more.

About this poem

That feeling of going back to your ex-lover just because you miss that familar love. My poem encompasses that.

Yeoui Lee

A teenager, I studied the Sciences in school, but Literature gave me comfort like no other subjects. The act of physically writing poetry allowed me to express my thoughts and feelings in a conducive manner. I also enjoy singing, and I aspire to write a few songs someday. more…
