Out Of Reach

What seemed close yesterday
Is now too far away
It's now out of reach
As I hear my brain screech

It only gets louder with time
But the words aren't mine
They belong to somebody
But not my body

As they make a claim
It leaves a stain
As I sit in the pouring rain
Unable to ignore my brain

My mind is a mess
I can't zip up the dress
Pull myself together
For my skin to feel like leather

I fall apart
So I can create art
Afraid to say my part
I can't speak from the heart
