Once Again

Once again, I sit alone,
tears streaming down my face.
Once again I sit alone,
the darkness I embrace.
Total loss of feelings,
emotions drown my soul.
No inner peace,
no healing...I feel I've lost control.
The fears, they consume me,
this pain. So deep. So real.
I try to run & hide it,
but this I can't conceal.
The memories are not fading,
the thoughts consume my mind.
There is no one who can save me from whom I have become.
There is nothing that can help me, for the battle has begun.

About this poem

Written in 2005 as my marriage was spiraling out of control, I wrote this to express the feelings I held so tightly inside.

Terri Ramsey

I have been writing poems since middle school to help myself express the things I cannot or know how to say. It's been a long-time passion of mine. I've always wanted to be a writer more…
