Me, Myself & I

Vina Karter 1988 (New York)

November 23

Who are you
Why must you taunt and harass me
When I look into the mirror
You appear to be the reflection on me

Any place that I attend
I'm constantly reminded of this entrapment
You follow me everywhere
This spirit is my attachment

You surface at any hour
Whether I'm awake or if I'm asleep
I keep running away
Wishing for peace while I sleep

What sent you
To cause havoc in my mind
This bind of affliction
Has become my newly found addiction

Now intertwined in this familiar spirit
I no longer can fear it
I am inspirit
With the host that I see in the mirror

Finally my eyes are awakened
As I contend to embrace this
In this blissful yet condemnation
The glass mirror of my reflection
