If I Could Catch A Rainbow.

If I could catch a rainbow,
I'd do it, just for you,
And share with you it's beauty,
On days when you feel blue.

If I could, I'd build a mountain,
You could call your very own,
A place to find serenity,
A place to be alone.

If I could take your troubles,
I would toss them in the sea,
But all these things, I'm finding,
Are impossible to me.

I cannot build a mountain,
Or catch a rainbow fair,
But let me be, what I do best,
A friend who's always there.

About this poem

I wrote this poem about 40 years ago (I think). In 2001, I dedicated it to a lady in Hampshire (England). I also put it on the internet my AOL page, using the pen name Wishes for Sale. It was promptly stolen by Sandra Louis Pringle who claimed it as her work. She made the mistake of copying the first line of the second verse wrong. She missed out one word, that makes the verse sound unfinished. This is my original poem.
