COMPASSIONATE RELEASE

COMPASSIONATE RELEASE POEM
By:  PEARLINA STORY

Incarcerated for a crime he did not commit
Given a number AP-3330 without justifiable clearance
Beaten to make a confession he would not submit
To young to know the cliches of a corrupt system
Educated himself in law he always had perseverance
Black, young deprived of justice he was the victim
Yes, God opened up the penitentiary
Everyone, hundreds came and praised God
As they spoke to Stanton-they stated they have new faith, hope
This is a racial system that covered up a murder
The murder of a police officer, I will tell you why
Stanton T. Story considered negro, black and colored
Who would suspect the officer’s partner had a liar alibi
That consisted of life's and betrayal against his code blue
Story had no hope, no justice, a death sentence
No evidence, no bullet, no prints wasn’t that a clue
Officer shot by his partner last breath both rode same ambulance
That made the D.A. of this case voters vote him Governor
Trying a black man for death when there was no penalty
Yet the racial people of Pennsylvania put him in office
Upholding D.A.’s “penalty”the charged of death is criminally
IGNORING the Supreme Court Ordered  “NO DEATH PENALTY”
Stanton Story fought for 50 years for his freedom
Death in body is CANCER another test victimized by the system
Then came COMPASSIONATE RELEASE beat the unjustifiable demon
Yes, God opened up the penitentiary
Everyone, hundreds came and praised God
As they spoke to Stanton-they stated they have new faith, hope
The fight for “JUSTICE” has not ended for Stanton Story
For his life of torment within those walls began a journey
One that has no end until “JUSTICE” is heard by Pearlina Story
His sister, this family saw and felt the bars of slavery

By:  Stanton Story’s consistent bravery
