A love of greed

Roxy Faith Linares 2004 (California)

I know not of valor and wit.
Charisma escapes me,
I’m quiet and dim.
I can’t offer money,
A poor man am I.
I can’t offer strength,
In battle I cry.
There is no other man as selfish as me,
For as long as you’re willing I won’t tell you leave.

About this poem

A selfish man is not ignorant to his flaws. He knows that he is not good enough for his beloved but will not allow her to walk away.
