Disturbing

Disturbing
By Arman Hoque
There’s a silence around my bed,
As figments awaken in my head.
My sight perceives without waking eyes,
As I incorporate dreams, nightmares and lies.
A red room, a fiery depth…
Perhaps a moment I felt inept.
Moments of horror, stand in line
To transgress upon my sleeping mind.
Why do dreams become nightmares?
To remind ourself that someone cares.
You’re on your own; no one to guide you;
Traverse your thoughts with no one beside you.
Delve into dreams, dive into the screams;
A roller coaster of emotions, just letting go.
Release of pressure through subconscious.or so.
I wake sometimes wishing I could go back;
Finish the story of a relentless attack.
I need some time to decompress;
Realize that I’m under stress.
I materialize my visions in my mind into concepts I find will address the thoughts I find…
Disturbing
I wake up in the morning safer than I thought.
My body drenched in sweat, from what the dream has wrought.
It may have been a battle nobly fought;
But in the end it’s nothing; thoughts just like the air;
But without the air we breathe we wouldn’t be there.
Dreams are like air; intangible but what we need;
Our subconscious directive it will directly feed.
People go crazier without sleeping for fear of dreams;
That spills the craziness into real life it seems.
Enjoy the thrill; or just stand still;
Time moves differently so do as you will.
Reconcile your life into a story, told in your head;
Safely secure in your bed.
The sweetest slumber makes you rise;
Nobody hurts; nobody dies.
You can fight your battles and die on your feet or embrace life’s cycle and die in your sleep.
