To Dad

To Dad
He came from a very simple life,
where cows and goats were his companions
But moved to the city where everything changed,
Discovering a treasure of philosophical wealth.

Reading the classics was his favorite thing,
He surely crafted a new pure being.
Creating a family was another breakthrough
and I can say with no doubt, that here was born another angle.

I remember the serenades, the comfort, the love
that I had as we embraced in a familiar bear hug
It was a magical place for me to rest,
smelling mangoes and peppermint on his breath.
And it was in this place where I felt so secure
squeezing his chest was a remedy for my soul.

Later came a time with siblings, so close,
ensuring that everything was as smooth as a song
But the inevitable route was already designed,
Leaving the family with weeping hearts
Because God had decided in his Almighty truth,
Time was fulfilled and it was time to go.

There is not even one day, that I cannot vividly recall
Pronouncing your name with passion and joy
Because I was the jewel and the love of your eyes,
bonded together for the rest of our lives.
