Cry a Tear

Sherry Bandy 1962 (Nebraska)

Cry a tear for me; show me that you care. Instead of showering me with hurtful words; shooting words like bullets through the air, the shrapnel tearing up my head.
I want you to know and feel the pain you leave inside of me. Cutting me up like paper dolls which one of them is me,which one of them is whole?
Let me have a happy heart so that I can smile again, release me from this prison that you have put me in.

About this poem

We all wish for and want love. What we thought was love has turned to abuse. We shed many tears longing that the abuser to see us and stop.
