Sorrows Borrowed
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
Disasters of their own condoned.
To prove this they can do alone.
For power and control to see,
Who does what just as they please.
With closed minds and not with opened eyes.
To see...
Shooting themselves in both feet.
To claim this blamed on enemies.
And that to do they hope to prove...
Someone in the house is threatening,
To tell the truth.
Infighting has begun to ride their backs.
Attacking!
Those they believe deceivers.
Those they perceive disbelievers.
Of their evil tasks.
Infighting has begun to ride their backs.
Attacking!
Even their supporters who endorse,
The plans they have.
An unconcern..
To the people they show.
An unconcern.
To the people who don't know,
They've been misled.
And been mistreated.
By the ones they picked,
To lead with common sense,
Yet none there to be followed.
With competence.
Convinced.
Sorrows borrowed.
The people begin to share.
Sorrows borrowed.
The only thing,
The people are aware that's there.
Borrowed sorrows.
The only thing the people are aware,
Is theirs.
To borrow.
The only thing the people are aware,
Is their...
Sorrows.
The only thing,
People these days now share!
And in denial.
The only thing,
People these days now share!
Two more things,
The people together now share.
Their Lies and deception!
And leave unseen,
Very few exceptions.
