CONTINUING

mad hippie poet 1974 (new jersey)

My head is spinning with every word I want to say, continuing to go down my life highway, sometimes getting lost along the way. The people I met along this road added something to my life. Some I will remember, some will hit hard sometimes, but I found a way to get back up, wanting more and taking less at movements when I thought I had more than enough.

I'm running in circles, and it's time to get off this hamster wheel you tried to kill my hopes and dreams, not knowing my screams for my reality that continued wanting me to feel.

Nothing is making sense these days, and that's o.k. I continue to walk in many ways until I find that light at the end of the tunnel and the silver lining that so comfortably hides in the clouds. It is black as night, but I can still see the smoke and everything I left behind when I found my mind after burning all those damn bridges.

I might fall, but I get back up and continue to find all those little pieces I forgot I knew with no thanks from you, and now I'm leading my way. There is something that continues to come from the rain. Trust me, I know there will be pain, yet my foolish pride continues to make me fight.

I know the places I have been living in the light, and understanding the times I've sinned, I know the places that I need to go to continue to grow.
