Storms That Withstand, Roots That Trust
"The wounds of words cut deeper than any blade,
Scarring young souls that once shone bright.
Each barbed remark a thorn that festers,
Poisoning pure hearts with parasitic spite."
"My child, so eager to delight and please,
Wilting under callous critique.
Petals plucked before their chance to bloom,
Nipped by cold winds of disdain so bleak."
"Fragile shoots strained under harsh demands-
"Be better, do more, don't disappoint!"
Impossible standards crushing tender stems,
Destined to fail, no matter how they point."
"So they stop reaching for the light above,
Bowed by burdens too heavy to bear.
No longer thriving in rays of warm love,
But trapped in shadows of self-despair."
"For when careless tongues inflict unseen scars,
When flaws highlighted eclipse all worth-
Seeds of self-love struggle to take root,
Choked in soil of self-doubt since birth."
"Yet still I see faint sparks in lowered eyes,
Glimmers of light not fully dimmed.
With patience and care the flame can rise,
If gently cupped and not condemned."
"I will speak words that uplift and bless,
Watering hearts once left to wilt.
Tending to spirits in sore distress,
Helping them heal from harm and guilt."
"Though storms may batter, they'll withstand enough,
Sturdy in roots woven with trust.
Regaining strength to reach for the sky,
If nourished with unconditional love."
"For burning bright is their inner light,
Needing but tender rays to thaw
The ice of cold criticism that froze
The flow of self-belief I saw."
"So I'll nurture the good I know is there,
Coaxing it out with compassion's balm.
Mending the damage of disregard,
Shielding them softly under my palm."
"Each child a garden, their spirit the soil,
Needing careful tending to grow.
I'll pull the weeds of words thrown to spoil,
Help their true beauty unfold and show."
"For they are worthy simply as they are,
Unique blossoms, vital in their place.
No measuring stick can determine their value-
Already so loved, already so precious."
