Just Mortal

Jade Smit 2008 (Cape Town)

Shame on me for being mortal,
this hopeless love is just awful

The universe you live in,
I don't exist there
The dimension you breath in,
I can't breath there
Pull me through a portal.
Shame on me for being mortal.

My body senses your love
You make me feel higher than the clouds above.
Every inch of you, made of stardust
A world with a population of two...
I'm hoping it's just us.

I'd cry a lake and drown,
I'd kiss your face while you frown,
I'd love you to death as if my body was 6 feet down.
Love is the feeling,
Heart break is the sound,
This hopeless love is just... Awful.

Shame on me for being mortal.
