Wounded Heart

In the realm of love's bewildering haze,
I stand before the crossroads of passion's maze.
In each face, a glimmer, a hint of deceit,
Whispering doubts, the fear of defeat.

Oh, sweet torment, the weight of my heart,
Bound by scars that won't easily depart.
Tread lightly, gentle soul, for love's embrace,
May bring solace or set my soul ablaze.

Should I trust in your words, those promises bright?
Or let my scars dictate, shunning the light?
The comfort of known, the embrace of the past,
Yet drawn to the unknown, can it forever last?

Love, a puzzle with fragments untold,
A tapestry woven, both tender and bold.
In every doubt lies loyalty's plea,
To heal the wounds that still burden me.

My heart, fragile vessel, easily broken,
Yet pulsing with love, beautifully outspoken.
In these waves of emotions, I ebb and I flow,
But beneath my walls, a fierce love does grow.

So choose, dear heart, with wisdom profound,
Let not fear's shackles keep you bound.
For in the midst of uncertainty's caress,
Lies an opportunity for love's embrace.

Embrace, sweet soul, the allure of the unknown,
With strength that only a wounded heart has known.
For in the depths of vulnerability's core,
True love emerges, forever to endure.

About this poem

Describing the hurt I've endured like many others, that keeps me closed off from intimacy. Core belief of abandonment and loss of love are the main themes in this poem. Letting go of Fear is the lesson in all of this.
