The Road well traveled

Free verse
This road has been so well traveled
That the pavement is worn and
littered with holes
Having walked this road many times
I trust in its stability
But growing old
I see
That it’s merely futility
For what was familiar was safe to me
But what new
might I have seen
If only I moved forward

About this poem

I am in a new stage of my life. I left my job of ten years and am stepping into a world that is very different. I am learning familiar habits and patterns but am learning to take more risks in life in trying new things. This being one of them.
