Noise within

Paula Gallegos 1976 (San Bernardino, CA)

In the depths of my mind, a symphony plays,
A cacophony of thoughts that never delays.
But oh, how I yearn for a moment of peace,
To silence the chaos and find sweet release.

I wish I could turn off the noise in my head,
The endless chatter that keeps me misled.
The worries, the doubts, the fears that persist,
They drown out the whispers of solace I've missed.

Like a tireless engine, my thoughts rev and race,
Leaving me breathless in this frantic chase.
The world's demands echo, their voices collide,
Leaving me lost in the tempest inside.

I long for a respite, a calmness profound,
To banish the echoes that endlessly resound.
To quiet the whispers that cloud my true voice,
And find a sanctuary where I have a choice.

In solitude's embrace, I seek sanctuary,
To find the stillness and restore my own clarity.
To hush the noise, to let the silence prevail,
And unravel the thoughts that have tied me so frail.

Oh, to quiet the mind, to find inner peace,
To grant myself solace, a moment's release.
To listen to whispers of truth and insight,
And bathe in the stillness of a peaceful night.

So I'll journey within, to the depths of my soul,
Where the noise dissipates, where healing takes control.
For deep in our essence, a calmness resides,
A sanctuary where the noise finally subsides.

I wish I could turn off the noise in my head,
To quiet the chaos and find peace instead.
But until that day comes, I'll seek solace within,
And trust that the silence will soon begin.
