Christina

Sharlene C 1997 (United States)

Don't find me,
Because I don't want to be found.
Don't find me,
Because I don't want you to come around.
Don't find me,
Because I feel ashamed.
Don't find me,
Because I feel so lame.
I don't want to feel like I need someone here
To save my day, and wipe my tears.
It's bad enough to feel weak and pathetic,
But to latch onto you and become parasitic,
I'll drain the emotion from you as quickly
as it drains from me.
And that's not something I want to see.
So don't find me..
Because I'll drag you down.
Don't find me,
Because there's no bringing me around.
Don't find me,
Because I want to be alone.
Don't find me,
Because I'll do it on my own.
And even though you may not understand,
I can see you reaching out your hand.
And I want to take it and let your caring heart get tangled up in me, like fingers in wet hair.
But to do that would be to sacrifice you, I am beyond repair.
I'm only a problem for the ones I love the most,
I would only bring you sorrow,
For I'm haunted by my own ghost.
You've spent your whole life taking care of people.
You did everything you could for your mother and I know, if I was yours, you'd want to do the same for me.
But you deserve to be free.
Beautiful girl with the kind, brown eyes.
My love has proven insidious,
I can't make you mine.
The best thing I ever did for you was change my mind.
