friends, fields, flowers

lying in the fields
my friends by my side
i stare at the flowers
and compare myself to them.
my friends are the sun, who i
greet every morning.
my friends are the water that
keep me going

they never dare to trample
or pull me from the ground
they let me grow in all my glory
and for them i show my best self
in the cold my petals fade
but they stay in the fields
my friends are a meadow
we grow side by side
