Lost Love

How was I to know all the pain that would follow us?
You took me for granted so I went out.
I therefore created a faze that destroyed your trust.

I was cast under a sugar coated spell
Our love cried, it struggled and finally it fell.

I could not see then what I regrettably see now.
You were right all along, honest and cool but the things that I did set you out to become a worldly and heartless fool.

You were hurt and destroyed yet I continued on my ploy
You pleaded for me to follow our vow-
"You and I together against the world" but I turned on us and befriended that loveless world.
I lapse so you were left with no other option but to face the exit.

You still waited for me to come back to our love
With your heart in your hand you silently pleaded
Sinking deeper within the hole
When all was said and done, loneliness became my permanent fate.
