Spanner in the works

You've thrown a spanner in the works,
A grenade that will tear my life apart,
One look is all it took,
Are you happy? You asked,
Yes I said, but no you heard.

Again and again you asked, are you happy?
I think so, I replied
dazed and confused lost in the look of your kind eyes,
Uncertainty coming my way

Happiness, what is this?
Will I long for your touch in the false sense of security I have created for myself
You've thrown a spanner in the works
Or have you?
Have I thrown the grenade into my life?
Self sabotage when everything was right and the path of life seemed laid out ahead

A spanner in the works,
You're making me undone
The longing I feel
To touch, to love again
Security, romance, longing to see those mind hopeful eyes looking back at me.

I'll throw a spanner in the works and make myself undone, for you?
Or for myself?
longing for that touch and for you to throw me a spanner.
