Sobriety

How does sobriety look on me?
I’m facing these difficulties with just God and me
Instead of picking up a drink, I think I’ll just look inside me
I don’t like what I see
I don’t like that I have to heal so much within
I have been full of sins
I just want to do right by you lord
Drinking the pain away only worked for the night and then the pain just came back the next night
Ever wonder why you would go to drinking and smoking instead of facing yourself?
Instead of accepting that you have to change?
I look around at my life and nothing’s the same
I’m the only person to blame
Drop by drop
Tear by tear while I drain this alcohol down the drain
It’s time to start a new life
It’s time to face myself
To believe in myself
God will never forsake me
I want to do right for my family
I’m doing this thing I never did before
I think it’s going great so far
Tell me, how does sobriety look on me?
