Over the Years--What Remains?

Over the Years–What Remains?

Over the years so much has changed,
Wrinkles shop, brown hair turns to gray.

Over the years so much has changed,
Beloved friends have gone to the grave.

Over the years so much has changed,
Once clear vision now thick glasses crave.

Over the years so much has changed,
Sprightly steps now slower each day.

Over the years so much has changed,
Instead of work there’s no more rat race.

Over the years, one thing remains,
My faith in God renewed every day.

About this poem

As I navigate through my eighties, my poetry ages with me. It's not the age of feebleness, but the age of fine wine. I find it easier to write about the real issues of life.
