Our House

                                 OUR HOUSE
I remember the day we bought you like it was yesterday,
We were so excited when we got the keys and forgot what we had to pay,
We finally got the keys to open your wondrous door,
You were not to know what we had in store.

We wanted to make you beautiful and a wow factor to all,
We wanted you to feel appreciated so we sent you to the ball,
We had lots of fun and memories within your walls to keep,
We had many cosy evenings in our beds tucked up fast asleep.

Our parties were renowned as we christened your body with noise,
The ladies dancing the twist and oh, boys will be boys,
It is time for us to say goodbye, we must be on our way,
You have a new family but we have had our day.
We are very proud of you, you were quiet as a mouse,
We thank you very much, yes, we mean you, our lovely house.

I love this poem Angela! What a beautiful tribute to the house that holds so many memories. I love the personification of the house. It reminds me of the way we felt about our tiny caravan we had when I was a child. It was a real pleasure to read.
