Elegy of a Mother's Silent Departure

In the shadows of despair, my heart does weep,
A tale of anguish, in the depths so deep.
I pen this verse, a heavy burden to bear,
Of losing my mother to life's cruel snare.

Her laughter once danced like a gentle breeze,
But now it's silenced by a soul's unease.
In the darkest night, her spirit took flight,
Leaving me behind in this endless night.

The pain, a tempest, a storm that won't subside,
I search for solace, in tears I confide.
Why did you leave, oh dearest mother mine?
In the wake of your absence, I'm left to pine.

The questions haunt me, they tear at my soul,
What drove you to this, what was your toll?
Did you feel alone in the depths of despair?
I wish I'd known, I wish I'd been aware.

Your smile, your touch, forever out of reach,
In the caverns of my heart, your memory I beseech.
The void you left, a chasm, a gaping hole,
My grief, a river, an eternal, restless toll.

Each day is a struggle, each night a pain,
Without you, dear mother, it's all in vain.
I long to hear your voice, to see your face,
But all that remains is an empty space.

Yet, in the darkness, a flicker of light,
A memory of your love, burning so bright.
I'll hold onto that, through the tears and the strife,
And cherish the moments that made up your life.

Though you've departed, your love will endure,
In the memories we shared, in moments so pure.
You'll forever be missed, forever be dear,
In my heart, in my soul, you'll always be near.

In this heart-wrenching journey, I'll find my way,
To honor your memory, to see the light of day.
Through the pain and sorrow, I'll learn to survive,
And keep your love and spirit, forever alive.
