Comparison Is A Flea

I'd wait by the shore for the tide to roar
To swash and backwash me with it's paw.
I'd go to sleep in the ocean's bed,
Have peaceful dreams, but wake up dead.
I wouldn't be able to care if you're grieved
For all my life I've lived bereaved
Mourning the gradual loss of me
From the bite of your lips; a comparison flea.
Now look me twice or thrice and more
There's only me I'm not in four.

About this poem

The act of comparison should be forsaken as every individual has his own unique blessings in purpose and identity.

    I really like your poem. Your last line referenced four, and I gathered that by the fourth time you would not be there; meaning if it took four times for a person to look or seek you out, you would not be there. I wonder if my hypothesis is correct?

      thank you for taking the time to read it's meaning. But honestly I didn't consider your hypothesis when writing by ' I'm not in four' I was only referencing that humans are spirit, soul, and body. But what you've said can also read meaning to it. I mean people don't tarry so long with those that don't appreciate them.
