Current Concern

My life seems like a river that
Flows quickly to the south.
I cannot yell for help or chat
Since water fills my mouth.

I sometimes will move "with the flow"
The way most people do,
Yet there are times that I must go
Upstream to see the view.

To fight the current is quite hard
And some will try and fail
But I must try and be on guard
To see what life unveils.
