Autumn Breeze
I'll take the time for morning tea
within this place of yore
and share with you my lazy day
and seasons come before.
My gaze it beckons to the trees
beneath the shadowed eaves
as summer's swept by Autumn winds
a gift of fallen leaves.
In this place of silent dreams
they'll swirl beneath my feet
blinded by their vibrancy
and the fragrances they mete.
I'll not be fooled by harsher winds
nor the promises they make
my rejection of those fleeting thoughts
I'm not too cowed to take.
As evening gains its drowsy hold
at daylights last abstain
lost fragments of a summer sun
will falter in refrain.
I rise and turn to leave this place
I've eased my burdened mind
I know now to return here soon
and help myself unwind.
