Soul deep

Charles Fields II 1955 (Fort Bragg, NC)

Spending time in the garden

Pulling weeds
spreading fallen leaves

Mulch and compost
to feed hungry roots

Harvesting fresh buds
for our herbal teas

Everything i can do
for the family’s needs

Growing the crops
sowing the seeds

Bearing fruit
for the labors

For our own
struggles

for the garden Represents
self sufficiency

The revolution is taking care of
Those you love

what is produced
Beyond your needs

Is sold traded or donated to Others
who cannot fend for themselves

Those who dig the wells
for the community

Ensure water
for themselves
