The Trainer

Somewhere behind the trainer is the hours of work you've put in
Were the people that helped you forge on like the farriers and veternarians

With partners that pushed you and others that taught
you and all the money that was spent
Gave way to lame horses and careers that was baught
and tears for a equine friend

The training of getting the horse ready for a
long hard pace
would determine the fate of this great athlete
And the many miles that you hauled them for a grueling race
Would there be victory for this talented animal or would they suffer defeat

With ripped jeans and dirty blouses and boots that needed new seams
crazy horses that needed breaking and everything in between
Was the girl that fell in love with the horses and the race track

And made the race horse her life's work
and never ever looked back
