Somewhere in the Middle

Isn't it something,
That there's as much evil in the ground
As good in the sky?

Isn't it something,
In the fact that there's torn up love letters,
And ripped up calendar pages
Decorating my floor?
Both who glitter by the sunlight of my window.

Because
Life lies somewhere in the middle
Of being untouchable
And being exiled from your kingdom.

Life lies somewhere in the middle.

Of tragedy and romance,
Of you and I.
Of feeling stuck in place
Like running through mud.
And days that feel like flying through air.
Like the world is yours.
Like days that you want to keep in your pocket
But bleed through the night into a new day.

Life lies somewhere in the middle.

Of Newton and Dylan,
Of anger and finding peace by yourself.
Of feeling strong
And missing your mom tucking you in at night.
And moonlight shinning on your gently pressed eyes
Like a serene lullaby.

Life lies somewhere in the middle.
Life is held in place by the good and the baad.
It lies in the eye of the perfect storm,
Fearless.
Yet, it goes on.
It is stuck in place by nothing.
It glides right through time
And by the end you stand
With your heart in your hand,
Bloody and blue
And scream
"Look what I did!"
I lived.
