Wished to Breathe Again
Once, she bloomed, like a rose so fair,
With dreams of motherhood beyond compare,
Her heart aflutter with hopes and dreams,
Of cradling her child in loving streams.
But Fate, with her cruel and callous might,
Cast a shadow that darkened the light,
For as life's tide rolled in relentless waves,
A tragic fate led her to an early grave.
As the moonbeams danced upon her face,
A melody of pain, a somber grace,
Her eyes filled with tears, her heart so weak,
She kissed her child's brow, her voice so meek.
"I leave you, my darling, my heart's true love,
But in your spirit, I'll forever be above.
Remember my touch, so gentle and warm,
And know my love, even amidst life's storm."
With a final breath, she slipped away,
Leaving behind a child without delay,
In the birthing room, where joy turns to woe,
A masterpiece of life, but no mother to show.
Oh, how the winds whispered a mournful tune,
The sun shining dull, as if Nature in gloom,
The stars wept diamonds, cascading tears,
As the world mourned for her, an outpouring of fears.
For this child, born into a world so cold,
Devoid of a mother's embrace to behold,
Would grow with a longing, forever in pain,
Yearning for a love, like drops of soft rain.
Yet in the depth of this sorrowful plight,
Hope emerges, like a beacon of light,
For the love that was lost, a village would share,
From the hearts of those who truly care.
Aunts and uncles, like stars in the night,
Grandparents who held her with all their might,
Friends who stepped forward, to fill the void,
Each a reminder, the world is not destroyed.
The mother's love, from a distant shore,
Sent love within each touch, forevermore,
Through gentle hands that guide and impart,
A piece of the mother's eternal heart.
About this poem
In the realm of sorrow and despair, A tale I'll share, a burden to bear Of a mother's love, so divinely blessed, But her life's flame extinguished, laid to rest.
