Winner
Amerilie Ang 1988 (Manila)
Heart impaled with a sword,
leaving pain that is never restored.
What is a mystery left unexplored?
It is life that is often ignored.
Life is a book of unwritten records;
unseen, unheard and unspoken accords.
Some days are just unfair,
but who are we to compare?
Life gives you a blank stare,
throwing you in a sea of despair.
Sigh, just looking at the empty chair,
of once filled with joy, love and care.
If God and angels are there to see,
why are there souls that can't set free?
I wish there is an answer and a key,
to the strangest perplexity.
Not a poet nor a writer, but I do guarantee,
to the Lord I pray, down on bended knees.
Can this poem be a top nominee?
Let me bring home the best trophy!
