Wilting Flower

And I found myself naked
Scorched and sentenced to death
Under the tyrants' claws
And the prying eyes of my persecutors
Clad nothing but scars and lesions
My hector had left on my skin

Why do these scars hurt now?
These abrasions are opening up
Turning into fresh wounds
I bleed, bleeding under the sun
Bare and bleeding while I'm pleading
Praying for redemption

But you turned your back on me
Leaving me writhing in agony
I am naked, bleeding, and burning
My soul is parched but no one heeds
Your promises sear me
I am wilting like a barren flower...
