SIN AND A SHOT OF JACK

Sin was presented to taste
sweeter than the honey comb
and the bitterness goes down smooth
with a shot of jack
they say the bitter wears away after awhile
none ever experience that
it's the sweetest smelling cologne in the place
but the owner is never found
That sensual whisper sending shivers in you spine
when no one's around
it's a slow dance all night on a single man
to in the day find out he's married
it's a little lie we say out loud
praying the truth will be buried
you can't take sin without a chaser
Satan's always around to sell you a smooth shot
whether the good times are at there best
or on the off chance it's not
for such a tasteful treat with a shot of jack
we accept a little of this and a little of that
the joy we felt turns sour quick
you think by now you should quit
too late now the shot is in
then the madness starts to win
the room is spinning, the world is twirling
you pray for the sweet comfort of hurling
pain over here, and  tragedy over there
can't the world see, don't God care
that after taste won't go away
oh no dear child it's here to stay
you may kick and you may scream
but it doesn't matter when you're unclean
Satan's busy so he gives you to friends
they poke and they prod and invite more in
but before this happens I'm warning you
of the dangers that sin and a shot of jack can due
