Northern lights

Blinding shards that bind the eyes
Fragmented, torn, on twilight rise
The days promise, the nights lies
Such songs sung over a thousand sighs
" oh I  love you"

Battered broke and beat
He hits the kerb
Taking the long road home
Wild wailing wind
Reminds him
He's still here, on his own

Yet under neon lamplight
Orange blinking
He shifts his feet and
Keeps on moving

And heads further into the night
Guided here by stormy flight,
Guided, somewhere, by northern lights
