Death of Dahlia

A mere glance it was,
dark lashes enhanced her sparkly eyes,
red curls had her face bounded,
A caress I wanted in my hands.

Last midsummer, it was a daydream
my eternal wishes flashed like a movie
A whisper of sweet melody it was,
still mimicking in my head like a tape.

Dear Aphrodite, the devotion you taught,
she was the epitome of hope,
Pure was her touch like a dove in azure sky
my eyes only saw the love, the Dahlia she was

But the winter came too fast,
taking my Dahlia away from me
shards of spiky ice, cutting the drops of hope
Death of Dahlia, became a tragedy in my diary.
