Bell tower.
Bell tower ...tall, longing
boy turned beacon
the communion of godly fear & his hope
worth a quarter still counting for the dollar
"The African Dream is the Hundred Notes Club"
wards off western "cowboys", or at the very least
buys the lawless pockets of the local policemen.
myth- building with a kaleidoscope, each mirror
a glint from each and every eye of my unmentioned ancestors,
skipped by grace.. was it design I don't know
fate plays jump rope sometimes and still trips your legs.
myth- building continues...
fantasy is an opium
carries giants larger than life,
and most don't bring about colonial trauma
they have their own quarters
both the money and houses they spent it on.
myth building..in the name of the father,
the son and the holy spirit, Ame....
The prayer is always cut at the exit
black fades back into black - dungeon lore,
I tell my siblings The Lord Still Loves US
but they mistaken the capitals for America
About this poem
I don't know how exactly to explain this poem but it is just comes from my wish as a black person to see my people excel and feel appreciated whether they be American citizens or African.
