ONCE AGAIN

mad hippie poet 1974 (new jersey)

Once again, I am stripping myself down to set my soul free. Once again, the end is over, and I'm looking for a new start, not knowing who will be the stranger renting out a body and heart because no matter how sick I get, I will always have my mind.

Once again, I will travel the world and learn a new language, a different culture, and a religion. All I ask is that I keep my love for that same girl who I always run to under the sun.

Once again, I hear yesterday's song and want to shine on and sing along. I'm a borrowed body with an ancient soul gathering seeds from all my journeys. And stories that I always told

Once again, I found myself bringing myself down because I heard all the noises of the higher power's wars for so long, being the only ones. Sound, I wear their scars for all the lives I lived. I want peace; I want
 love

Once again, I'm looking for an entrance through the exit door. I'm looking for a disguise that will be the surprise when they call me a phantom, so kind of mystery, when lovers, friends, and enemies stare into my eyes and tears of diamonds and roses thorns run down our cheeks for I will continue to reborn until my lessons are learned. Once again, I'm looking for any sign or a witness to testify.
