THE ROAD TO MY REDEMPTION

mad hippie poet 1974 (new jersey)

At this time of serious reflection, I continue to look for that road less traveled to the final destination and redemption. I have been a slave to this life for way too long. My feet are now clean because I, at last, know where I belong, and that's here in your arms, knowing you will cause no harm.

I was always told you got that gypsy soul like your father. The only difference is you got a hungry heart that you wear on your tattered sleeve, always looking for that next big thing to believe in. Heaven knows I'm no saint, and hell knows I'm a different type of sinner.

Do I need any stamp of approval? I am moving on my dancefloor, and I don't care whos watching anymore. Because when that song comes on, I'm singing out of tune and dancing out of step. I have the book in hand, and with this self-reflection, I forget that I already shook the hand of the man leading me to my redemption.
