THE DRUMMER

Frustrated the child was learning to drum.
it was so hard .a proper conundrum.
she was better at ballet than this tom tom.snare and bass melee.
her teacher had suggested it in the first place
.she struggled with it and persisted and failure she resisted just to save face .
She was totally  in despair.
then one evening at practice he was there
.small guy.grey hair  black .leather jacket
.he seemed to come from nowhere..
a second in time of an empty room then he was there,
hey there  he said with an ethereal smile.
A strange calm suddenly came over her.
he approached and pulled up a chair.
hypnotizing  a penetrating stare.
a friendly comforting smile and the words i see you re struggling there.
child do not despair
. Drum  for me  and feel the beat of your heart for that is where we all must start.
then suddenly as in a trance she started to drum.
the sound of her heart filled her ears.
With the constant dum dum dum as if by magic  her hands. Came to life  ..
tiny hands with sticks entwined came perfectly assigned with the  beat of  lifes rythmn . .drumming a beat .fast and neat
..she was astounding with the drums she was pounding.it all now made. sense .effortless and sweet sounding.
no longer a foundling to the
 snare she was pounding.
the drumming echoed around the room.a musical all encapsulating perfume
.after what seemd like forever her mother arrived  to this fantastic  percussional  sound. .
a few other people had gathered around .
eyes closed the child was drumming.,an extraterrestial treat.expertly tapping her feet.as though in a wonderful musical Dream .
picture the scene.drumming serene.
time seemed to slow and she was aglow
just then .her mother clapped to break  the trance .
She awoke  all wide eyed  to the  audiences advance.
Amazed and all agock  her body shuddered  wild with shock.
she  came back to earth  from.this pleasant surprise  .astonised she turned to the man stood at the door in a heavenly guise.
who had what seemed a moment ago  sat next to her.
he seemed to glow and shimmer and start to rise
.confused lisa rubbed her tired eyes.thank you she shouted at the vision across the floor by the stair.
Her mother turned .honey who are you talking to.theres nobody there.
The  ethereal figure  smiling just stood there .
a silent voice  slowly saying take  care.
Nola suddenly  felt a Warming sense and a soothing hum.she involuntarily blinked her eyes  .
then he was gone.
