The Depth of the Ocean

Catching sleep
In my dreams
You’re lying there next to me
The ocean hits the sand
We always come back together in the most twisted ways
Have you been thinking about me
I knew you so well
Every drop of the ocean
Every crevice of the sand
The ocean looks deep but it isn’t
There’s so much life beneath it
You could get lost in the waves
The feeling of the water pushing your body forward
The way the sand covers every part of your body
Something you once understood completely drifts away from your grasp
And then I am swimming
My head under the water
Gliding
Coming up for air
