Solo Dance

I gently take a bow,
Offering my hand to yours,
You take my hand gently,
I pull you close silently,
There is no music playing,
For my heartbeat resonates with yours,
Creating the saddest and sweetest melody,
We dance in a classroom devoid of people,
I open my eyes only to find out it was a fantasy,
It seems this is my cruel reality,
I forgot you're only a friend,
I guess our dance has no beginning or end,
But even without you I'll give it a chance,
Maybe this was meant to be a solo dance,
Nonetheless I wouldn't mind,
If we continued our routine in fantasy land.
