Summertime

Walt Sisikin 1953 (Santiago)

Summer is nice and the beach is the place to be
Such nice warm sand the water is warm, company is nice
Plenty of nice people to see
Big beaches are the best, where one can lay out without crowds and feel like you are in a vise
In summer the sun is hot, it feels good on the skin for a while
Once you get tanned and get dressed in white, it is a nice contrasting style
To go swimming in salty water feels good and then to lay out in the sun
Aah! Such pleasure indeed
But, advice of too much sun you must heed
As sometimes, even sunscreen will not help
You will get sunburned and then at the slightest touch, with pain you will yelp
However, it’s all worth it in the end
To feel joy, heat, pain all combined together, a human experience that feels like a friend
