Seasonal Serenade: Arrival of spring

Hajra Khan 1997 (Lahore)

When spring returns the weather changes a lot
The fields are rich in daffodils, a coat of clover cloaks the hills
New buds also open green in every branch
But listen...
In the yellow season of autumn
A shower sprinkles softly down
The leaves that are broken, got separated from the trunk
Don't think of them as dead
For in those fine fibers
Many heartbeats rest
Just find their reflections
You feel like they are listening
