Shadows

Watching from afar, jealousy within me speaking through my countenance.

Watching you slip away to the hands of another.

Or another you've always been with.

Aware of the fact, I shiver in fear

I know where I stand but I still wish to mean more to you.

Knowing how thin my chances are I am beyond happy to stand in the shadows.
To support you from so far away lest you push me away and then my heart you slay

Let me comfort you and be there for you

Let me be the diary you write your feeling in

Bring me closer, if it's as a friend then I'm most glad

If you wouldn't return my love

Then let me remain so your comforter, supporter and maybe one day your lover.
