The Longest day of my life

Tonya Richardson 1968 (Mississippi)

My name is Rose and I am 38 years old.
My life is full of mystery and stories untold.
When I was eight, I was happy, never scared.
For what my future would hold, I was not prepared.
It was a normal day, just like any other.
I was in the kitchen with my mother.
I didn't understand how or why.
I was really scared when Mom started to cry.
She was my sister, she was my friend.
I didn't understand why her time here had to end.
Now she is in Heaven, high in the sky.
She's wearing wings and learning to fly.
Her soul is happy, her soul is free.
Heaven is a wonderful place for her to be.
Since she can't be here with me.

In loving memory,
