I woke up from a deep sleep
I couldn't even think because my nightmare was too deep
I saw brothers killin brothers
And babies cursin-out their mothers
I'm glad it was just a dream

I saw brothers droppin out of school
Hangin and Slangin on the corner; thinkin it was cool
I wiped tears from their mothers' eyes
Tryin to erase the tragedy of the Drive-Bys
Man, I'm glad it was only a dream

Starved minds wouldn't eat; didn't wanna feed
Graduated from high school; unable to read
Young, jobless brothers drove the fancy cars
Only later to dwell in the home of the prison bars
Is this reality or AM I STILL DREAMIN?
